This lesson plan took place in 9th and 10th grade classes, following basic exercises related to figure drawing from a live model. Students learned a new process of drawing that is "Reductive," in which they laid a ground of charcoal and black chalk and took away, as well as added material to the page. The goal was to create a vivid sense of light and shadow and understand accurate proportions and anatomy of the figure.
