Students combined in the 11th and 12 grade class have very strong design, rendering, compositional as well as conceptual development skills. This project remains quite opened-ended, allowing for a lot of room for the students to make important decisions about their work. The main focus is motion and time, and how the work that we create reflect these around us. For a spark introduction to this unit, students created paper airplanes and "flew" them, and created drawings, paintings and illustration emphasizing movement and change over time. The main source of visual inspiration was Italian Futurism.
